House Cafe Restaurant Lekki

Explore the City Dairy: House Cafe Restaurant Lekki

My experience at the HouseCafe Restaurant in Lekki was great. Haminat (my roommate) and  I went out on a date, just on a random girls' night out. Initially, I was reluctant about going out. I had had a long day and I honestly just wanted to get home, hug my pillow tight and drift into dreamland, but Haminat insisted we go out and we did and it was worth it.
So before I proceed I just want to let you know that the food at the HouseCafe restaurant was awesome. Yeah! I love food a lot!!! like a lot, a lot, so I should know what good food tastes like right?

House cafe? What's that?

HouseCafe is an Italian Restaurant located in Lekki Phase 1, off Admiralty road at No 12 Victoria Arobieke Street. It is actually opposite Cinnamon Garden Mall. The restaurant has two halls; Pizza is sold in the hall on the left side of the picture and the restaurant, where we had our date, is located at the right side of the hall. The front of the restaurant was colorfully lit. It had a set of chairs arranged by the side, in front of the entrance of both halls. It also had a nice aquarium between both halls.

I am never, I mean never, ever impressed with customer service in Nigeria but I was astounded by the quality of the service I received at HouseCafe. I applaud the waiters for doing an excellent job. We were greeted at the door and ushered to seat, even my bag was offered a seat!. Our food was served in time, we were asked after each service if we were comfortable or needed assistance. We were basically treated like princesses I should say.

The restaurant itself was dimly lit, the perfect setting for a date. The entrance of the restaurant had a pastry counter and on the opposite end hung a plasma screen which was apparently our source of entertainment. Unfortunately for us, the videos playing were some random clips of a Miami beach party, which was actually boring, very boring. The room was empty, we were the only customers they had so we had the restaurant all to ourselves. It couldn't have been better. I had a lot of challenges taking pictures because of the lighting, I guess it is because I'm a beginner at photography. So, please excuse the sloppiness of the images. They shall get better!!

The Food!!!

They had a variety of items on the menu but unfortunately for us, most of the items on the menu weren't available so we just had our main course. We had ( I can't believe I actually didn't take a picture of the menu. I'm sorry!)  steak and rice with sauce and an extra side dish of fried rice.

How much did I spend?

I know this doesn't suffice. Next time I promise. I had water. Yay!!! Some "I'm trying to be healthy" stunt I pulled there. I was actually just on a budget. My date, however, had a glass of wine which was about 3,000 Naira and our meal cost about 10,000 Naira. It took the chef roughly 20 minutes to get the food done. I guess that was okay considering that the food was totally worth it. For a three-course meal without drinks, I suggest you budget between 15,000 Naira to 20,000 Naira.
However, 6,000 should be enough for a single meal without drinks of course. I'm not sure what happened but I got full. This is a miracle for me!! It literally takes about 2 cows, 5 loaves of bread and a bucket of ice cream to fill me up. I suspect the chef had something in the food, trust me I'd propose to him if I had a chance (that's if it is a "him").

Pictures, anyone?

You really make it seem really easy together with your presentation however I find this matter to
be actually something that I believe I would never understand.

It seems too complex and extremely huge for me.
I am having a look ahead to your subsequent put up, I will attempt to get the hang of it!
