R.S.V.P Restaurant, Victoria Island

Explore the City Diary: Fate Date Night at R.S.V.P Restaurant

No! I didn't meet Prince Charming. Yes, I'm referring to the restaurant, not a person.

So Haminat and I decided to go on another date (in case you didn't read the last post, House Cafe Restaurant Lekki, Haminat is my roommate). Our plan was to have dinner at Radisson Blue Hotel in V.I.  This time around we took our time getting dolled up so we'll look like human beings.

After all the drama getting dressed, we ended up not eating in Radisson Blue, the security guards told me I wasn't allowed to use my camera to take pictures apparently, only mobile phone cameras are allowed.  Like that wasn't enough, after settling at Surface Bar & Grill ready to place our order, it started raining. Lol, it was like a big "do not eat here" sign.

We packed our "almost lady-like" selves and decided to try somewhere else. Behold!!!! Okay, we settled for R.S.V.P. I, honestly, love the ambiance of the Restaurant. This time around we weren't the only guests, there were a couple of foreigners and two other girls present. R.S.V.P Restaurant located at 9 Eletu Ogabi St, Victoria Island, Lagos, is more than a great place to have dinner with friends or to go on a date. It has a bar also which would be a great place to have drinks.

What about R.S.V.P?

When we arrived I was having serious doubts about whether or not it was going to be a great place probably because the street it is situated doesn't really look like a place were a restaurant would seat. I actually thought the Uber driver had lost his way. Well, we didn't get lost.

Like I mentioned earlier it has a bar, right opposite the entrance of the restaurant. The dining area is situated on the left side of the entrance and on the right is a corridor that leads to the restroom. The restaurant was dimly lit by some really cute candle powered bulbs. The ceiling was bare so I could see the vents run across the length of the restaurant

It is my terrible tradition to visit the ladies when I go out. I really can't remember how I developed this habit, but I remember that I didn't make it to the restroom. There was a big mirror hung on the wall of the corridor that led to the bathroom. I suppose we all know that A woman + A mirror = Tons of selfies. They all turned out terrible by the way, all of them! Such a tragedy and I took about 20!

The menu, please?

This time around, the items on the menu were available. I know I promised to take a photograph of the menu,  I didn't because I forgot. I am sorry once again. There were a variety of options available and I decided to be adventurous. I ordered Chicken Katsu and Haminat had Chicken Roast and rice.

For someone who loves spicy food, I wasn't satisfied with the taste of the chicken. However, the sauce that came with it did an excellent job complementing the taste. Oh!! Lest I forget, I had this amazing vanilla ice cream.  It took roughly 20 minutes for our meals to be served and the customer service was really great.

Well, at what cost?

Each plate of food we ordered was about 6500 Naira, the bottle of water I got was 500 Naira and a scoop of Ice cream, 1200 Naira. 10 000 to 15 000 Naira would be a great budget if you'd love to go there.

Would I recommend it?

Definitely! It was fun and the environment was really nice.
